William Geisler, MD, MPH

William M. Geisler, M.D., M.P.H, is a Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is an internationally recognized expert on chlamydia and Mycoplasma genitalium infections, and his research focuses on the natural history, epidemiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment, pathogenesis, and immunology of these infections. He has over 20 years of clinical experience in the evaluation and management of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and provides STI education and training through the Southeast STD/HIV Prevention Training Center. He is on the editorial board of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and has served as an STI expert consultant for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization. He is also the Co-Director of the UAB Medical Scientist Training (MD-PhD) Program.
